To inform, educate, and empower black communities, and to challenge systemic racism and oppression.

Goals:

Here are a list of our goals.

  • To increase representation of black people in media, both in terms of content creators and subjects..
  • To provide high-quality and accurate reporting on issues affecting black communities, and to hold those in power accountable.
  • To create opportunities for black people to develop skills and careers in media, and to support and mentor up-and-coming talents.
  • To collaborate with other organizations and individuals who share our values and goals, and to build a network of allies and supporters.

Why Primier Media is key

Having diverse media representation, including representation of Black people, is important for a number of reasons. Here are a few:

Representation:

The media plays a significant role in shaping public perception and attitudes towards different groups of people. When Black people are underrepresented or misrepresented in the media, it can contribute to negative stereotypes and biases.

Empowerment:

Black media outlets provide a platform for Black voices and perspectives to be heard and amplified. This can empower Black communities and provide opportunities for Black individuals to share their stories and experiences.

Cultural preservation:

Black media can also help preserve and promote Black culture, history, and traditions. This can be especially important in a society where Black history and contributions are often overlooked or suppressed.

Economic impact:

Having a thriving Black media industry can also have positive economic impacts, creating jobs and opportunities for Black professionals and contributing to the overall health of the media industry.

Overall, having a diverse and inclusive media landscape that includes Black media outlets is important for promoting representation, empowerment, cultural preservation, and economic opportunity.
